Unboxing my new Kindle
Last Friday, my Kindle arrived. Until now, I have played it for 3 days. So far, I love it a lot! Firstly, eInk screen is great!I have used it for an hour. That was very comfortable. I did not feel tired at all. Moreover, that is very energy saving! I have used for 3 days, but the battery indicator is still in a full bar! In additional, I found Kindle Store has a lot of free English classic book to download! Saving a lot of money, and it helps me to improve my English!
Well, it has some weakness. Firstly, I thought I could get a free 3G connection via Kindle. Yes, that is free to browse and download books from Kindle Store. But other than that, there will be a fee applied. Secondly, it has not a zoom in function in their pdf reader. I tried to open an A4 size pdf file, that is nearly impossible to read. Although I can set the screen to be landscape ,the page is in a readable size, that is still to hard to read. Lastly, that is only an eBook reader. Mainly, it can read the books. If you want it to have similar features as iPad, sorry, it cannot be compared with iPad. Anyway, Kindle designed to read books, it did a good job.
Until this moment, I am very happy about it. I have not any major complaints at all!
I bought a Kindle
I bought a 6" Kindle this evening. That is just $189. I think Amazon just dropped the price, I remember I saw that was $2XX few days ago.
Why do I buy that and even not consider to buy a iPad? Firstly, I am not an apple person. Secondly, $189 is a very attractive price, much cheaper than iPad. Besides, all I need is a eBook reader. Kindle can do the job. Moreover, it has an eInk, which is good for my eyes. The normal computer screens, including iPad screen, are so easy to make my eyes tired. Lastly, it got a free 3G connection! I can get books their wireless networks. Moreover, it has a beta web browser, therefore, I will have free wireless internet connection! That is very cool!
HTC Legend arrived in Australia

Google I/O 2010 - Android New Features
The 2nd day of keynote is about Android. Mainly, Google presented the newest version of Android, 2.2. They is a faster OS. Moreover, the Android market has some new features, such as "Update All". You can click "Update All" button to update all applications in your phone, rather than updating them one by one. But sadly, the payment processor for Android Market is still only available for developers in the limited locations to sell their apps.
Another part of 1st Day Keynote in Google I/O - Chrome Web Store
There is another part of 1st Day keynote. That is Chrome Web Store. The concept is fairly simple. An appstore for Chrome web browser. You can install or buy web app in through the store. Just one click you can install the application in a tab page in Chrome web browser. Even for paid apps, it can process within a click too.
Moreover, it supports the most of modren web technologies, such as Flash.
But I got a question, for paid apps, whether the developers can only use Google Checkout to be their payment processor. If that is the case, it has the problems in Android Market. Only developers from limited locations can sell their apps, becuase Google Checkout is only available in very very limited locations!
Lastly, the web store is only web applications only, it can't sell the desktop applications.
