This afternoon, I help my friend to fix your computer. The symptoms are no network access from internet explorer and MSN. Moreover, there is a window pop up at the startup, saying something like "mseret.dll cannot find module"(I can't remember the exact name of dll name and details of the error message). The solution is simple. We used AVG to a full system scan and removed all infected files. I found there are a number of virus in the computer. Moreover, I found the reason of no network access from internet explorer and MSN. Because the virus changed the internet connections to use an internal proxy. What I did, I went to IE->Tools->Internet Options->Connections->Local Area Network Settings->Unchecked the proxy settings. I think the virus tried to setup a proxy and force all internet connections to use that. But that computer has AVG and AVG killed the process. Thus, it makes no internet access all at all in IE and MSN. Finally, I ran regedit and search the name of dll in the error message. Then I deleted that registry to run that dll. So far, that sounds every thing is running fine now.

Wordpress group must be working so hard. Not longer ago, they released version 3.0. Today they released an upgarde, version 3.0.1! They are great!. In this release, there are some bug fixes.

My HTC Magic is one year old and it is running Android 1.5. That is very old OS. Moreover, HTC doesn't seem to have a plan to upgarde it. So, I think that is the time to upgarde my phone and convert it into a dev phone. I may install an open source rom on it.

For my choice for the new phone, that is Samsung Galaxy S. I went to a shop having a hand-on experience on it. That is stylish and the screen is so great! So, I love it. Tonight, I went a few shops, but no stocks for Samsung Galaxy S. So poor.....

In Windows, there is not a good partition manager. Yes, you can buy some third parties software. But there is a free alternative choice, GParted. GParted is the partition manager for Linux. But it have a LiveCD ISO. So, you can boot your computer with the LiveCD and resize your partition.

Google has a new developer tool for Android, App Inventor for Android. That seems to be much easier than eclipse IDE plug-ins. The interface is as simple as Visual Studio. Thus, Google said this tool is aimed to general public users. But I think there is some programming skills required. Please image after you drop a button on a form, you need to program the logic when the button is clicked.

Amazon has released Kindle for Android last week(I think). But that requires Android 1.6 or above. My HTC Magic is still running 1.5. That is too bad. I cannot test it. However, basis on the screenshots, it should be cool!

I just bought a 6" Kindle last week. But this week, I found Kindle DX is on sales too. That is $359. I think around 100 dollars off! If I bought it this week, I could have another opinion. Anyway, $359 is too much for me. I think that is not different if I buy it this week.

Previously, I have complained about no zoom-in function in the Kindle PDF reader. Well, actually, there is a firmware upgarde missing. My kindle is shipped with firmware 2.3. But the latest firmware is version 2.5. The latest version has the Zoom feature in the pdf reader. Moreover, after the zoom-in, you can pan across pdf as well. You can choose the zoom level from fit-to-screen,150%, 200% and 300%. I tried to read a 8.5"x11" pdf in 200% zoom level. That is very very readable!
