Chrome OS is an UI of Cloud
I read some blog posts. The people are comparing Chrome OS to Windows. Windows has a strong competitor now. But I think Google uses "Chrome" as the name of their new OS. I think they are thinking in a different approach. Both "Chrome" OS and Browser are tools for them to integrated their Google Apps with your computer. So, their approach helps the computer users to get access to the Cloud. To summarize, I will say Chrome OS + netbook is the tool to access Google Apps and that is an extension of Google Apps or the user front of Google Apps.
Chrome OS
Google announced they will start a new project, Chrome OS. Chrome OS is open source and run in x86 and ARM CPU. That is different from Android and a brand new project. That is targeted at a small netbook market.
Well, that makes me to remember gOS. gOS is a linux distro which is a kind of Google Apps Enabled Linux and some netbooks are using that as OS too. I am woundering whether Chrome OS like gOS to use Linux?!

Improve HTC Magic Battery Life
HTC Magic Battery Life is around a day long. But there are some tips to improve that. The major problem is a lot of Android Apps always polling information from the web. So, I suggest you set the setting of update period to be longer, or even turn off update feature. I found the battery life is improved a lot, when I turned off NewsRob which is getting the rss from my Google Reader(You can imagine that is a big job). Secondly, you can install a task manager to kill the apps which is not using. It can save CPU energy consumption. And there are a number of free choices for Task Manager in Android Market.
Skype in Android - Part 2
I have installed Skype in HTC Magic from Android Market. That is Skype Lite. That is different from Skype Mobile Version in Windows Mobile. It cannot support SMS. And I tried SkypeIn, it seems to be not working. Moreover, I tried SkypeOut, that needs to dail a local number. For voice chating, it needs to dail a local number as well. But the text chating, it supports that. For VOIP, I think we still need to wait for the full version available in Android.
Skype is in Android
Some people are asking around, are there a Skype program in Android? Yes, please go to Market, and then search "skype". There is a Beta version of offical Skype. I have installed that in my HTC Magic. I will write a entry about that tonight.
