Apple Event: iPhone SE and Smaller iPad Pro
Last night, there was an apple event. Thus, this morning, I got up and checked their website, I am quite disappointed. Mainly, they are going to release two new products. Firstly, they will release a new version of iPhone, iPhone SE . That is a lower end product than iPhone 6s and looks like iPhone 4. Secondly, a new version of iPad Pro is coming, that has a smaller screen, 9-7 inch screen. I did not feel exciting for these two products. Also, I was looking forward to a hardware refresh for Mac Mini and Macbook Pro. They are not using the latest version of Intel CPU, skylake yet. But this event has not mentioned any plans about that at all.
Logitech M560 Wireless Mouse
I am coding for living.I need to spend at least 8 hours per day in front of computer. That is not good for my shoulders and my back, I always got some pains from my shoulders and my back. Thus , a good mouse is very important for me, it can take some pressure from my shoulder. Recently, I bought a good mouse which is Logitech M560 Wireless Mouse. The mouse is very sensitive. Its curved shape is fitted my palm grip. That is quite comfortable!
I like to use a virtual PC for work
I love to virtualise my work pc. Although that required to run on top of a virtualisation software, it may not run that fast. However, it is easy to be manage. I just need to write a copy file script to copy the VM files from the host to the backup! If we have some hardware problems on the physical host, I need to move the VM files to other host. The maximum download time will be around 2 to 3 hours. That is quite cool!
Connect to a TV from a computer wireless
Nowadays, the most of laptops have HDMI which is a type of connector most of TV have. But that is not very fun to have cables laying on the floor. I prefer to do it wireless. You can use apple tv or android tv box. They can use do screen mirroring wireless. But they are normally priced over $99. I like to ChromeCast which is only $49. Then I can project my android phone and my computer with chrome browser. Please don't misunderstand that is only casting my browser screen, I can cast my whole computer screen to tv! That is easy and just $49.
Using NUC to be a developer box
I am considering to get a Developer PC for myself. I did some traveling from time to time. Mainly, they are traveling my home in Brisbane to my home in Hong Kong. That is no troubles to get the keyboard and monitor, even I can get a think client. Thus, I am thinking to get a INTEL NUC which is not big and not heavy at all. That is similar form factor of mac mini, which is easy to carry around. Moreover, that is much cheaper than a laptop.
I got a supplier can do that for me too, It can get Core i7 and 16 GB with 240GB SSD in a reasonable price.
But that is not a normal way, the most of people will get a laptop. Am I too crazy?
